Long arm of the law keeps grabbing for Aiken, SC man – but now its federal

(Aiken, SC) – An Aiken County man with a long history of drug, gun, domestic violence and other arrests over the past 15 years in South Carolina – is jailed this morning – and is being held for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol; Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) in connection with federal charges in Georgia.
34-year-old Adonis Moment of Aiken has a long list of drug charges over past decade and a half including crack cocaine, cocaine, ecstasy, LSD and crystal methamphetamine.
The latest charges against moment were filed Thursday including that ATF hold and a family court bench warrant for failure to pay.
However, on Nov. 7, 2017, a federal grand jury sitting in Augusta, GA indicted Moment on two charges involving his arrest in Richmond County on Sept. 27, 2017 – possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence.
Moment was also arrested in in separate cases in January, May and July 2017 on numerous felonies however jail records state a judge release Moment and dismissed many of the felonies.
In fact, it is unclear how Moment has repeatedly managed to receive – in-effect – a “get out of jail card” by judges in Aiken County.
